The installation " Une Ville sous la forêt - A City under the Forest" is a collective work inspired by the Gallo-Roman collections of the Musée des Beaux-arts et d'Archéologie de Besançon and the Musée de Bibracte.

Therefore it is a ceramic project on the valorization of the heritage of the Burgundy-Franche-Comté region.

Conçue par Angela Campanile et réalisée avec les participants des Ateliers créatifs du CCAS de Besançon, pendant l’année 2017-2018.

The installation " Une Ville sous la forêt - A City under the forest" was born from the idea of taking a sample of the subsoil, therefore, to be able to show the archaeological wealth of the region.

The participants in the project created with our know-how Gallo-Roman copies of ceramics, and also walls.

The ceramics that make up the installation are produced with the modelling of clay, and different decoration techniques.

For example decorations: with a brush with engobe and incision, with a mould, by incision, and with a wheel.

After that the ceramics produced were fixed on a cylindrical structure.

In conclusion, the different small works, realized are the fruits of a research to know better the treasures and beauty around us.

Each fragment that composes this collective work has a history linked to archaeological heritage, but above all human.

The installation created with the various ceramics represents the strength generated by the diversity of the unique individualities of the project's participants.
